Compare the only number that matters
Unit price — cost divided by quantity — cuts through package-size games. The bigger box usually wins but not always: 'family size' sometimes carries a premium, and sales routinely make the small package the bargain.
Shelf tags and their fine print
Stores post unit prices, but not always in matching units — one brand per ounce, another per 100 count. Converting to one unit (as here) is the only honest comparison; and a bargain per ounce is no bargain if the surplus expires unused.
